Audio-Visual Systems Installation Technician

Job Summary
Install AV equipment including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, video walls, and control systems in corporate boardrooms, classrooms, conference centers, and public venues. Pull, terminate, and label AV and network cabling (HDMI, CAT6, coax, fiber, speaker wire, etc.), then mount racks, displays, and gear following drawings and manufacturer specs. Integrate systems with control platforms (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX) and perform system configuration, testing, calibrations, and quality control inspections. Troubleshoot signal flow, control, and audio level issues while interpreting designs, construction drawings, and signal flow diagrams. Document installation progress, wiring labels, and as-built changes, then communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment with project goals. Assist in servicing and maintaining AV systems post-installation and provide on-site and remote technical support as needed. Travel to job sites is required; occasional overnight stays apply.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Ability to obtain formal approved clearances
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and indoor installations
- Travel to job sites required
- Occasional overnight stays required
- Physically demanding work climbing ladders, lifting equipment, working in ceilings and other tight spaces
- Collaboration with other trades (electricians, IT teams, general contractors), as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Formal education in Electronics or related field
- Experience in commercial AV installation, 1-3 years
- OSHA safety certification
- CTS or manufacturer certifications (e.g., Extron, Crestron)
