Job Summary
Oversee and execute all audio needs for Museum programming, rental events, and visiting performances for the Public Science Common, serving as the subject matter expert on audio systems and sound engineering. Provide leadership in sound design and engineering, collaborating with internal and external partners to create high-quality, engaging experiences for in-person and online audiences. Define standards, develop procedures, and support ongoing operations, with responsibilities including supervision of audio reinforcement, training staff, and ensuring readiness for complex events across a venue open 7 days a week. Proficiency with Yamaha consoles, Dante networking, QLab, and immersive sound (e.g., d&b Soundscape) is preferred, along with experience capturing audio for livestreams/recordings and the ability to work safely at heights and under varied production conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Yamaha audio consoles
- Experience with analog & digital signal flow for audio, including Dante/networking
- Experience with building and running QLab workspaces
- Experience capturing audio for livestreams and recordings
- Comfortable working at heights on grid and with show conditions
