Job Summary

Operate, set, and strike audio equipment for Honda Center events, including concerts and Ducks games; serve as the primary mix board operator and oversee arena sound systems, both interior and exterior; manage Riedel intercom systems, coordinate with event vendors and TV broadcast trucks, and collaborate with Production and Building Operations on repairs and maintenance of audio infrastructure. Coordinate scheduling of A1/A2 technicians, investigate and resolve operational issues, take cues while listening to the audio mix, assist with RF coordination, and support various internal departments, vendors, clients, and broadcast partners. Extensive hands-on responsibilities require strong technical knowledge of sound systems, IP networking, and current audio practices, plus the ability to work non-traditional hours and perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders) in a fast-paced live-event environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience operating entertainment audio systems in a multipurpose sports arena or similar environment.
  • Experience with Yamaha CL5 digital mixing console or equivalent.
  • Experience with Dante, MADI, Q-SYS, Riedel communications systems, and Evertz routers preferred.
  • Experience with RF coordination, including Wireless Workbench, preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of entertainment sound systems, signal flow, audio routing, and audio path capabilities.
  • Knowledge of IP and network topology.
  • Knowledge of current audio trends, technology, and best practices, including speaker placement and microphones.
  • Proficiency with inventory management and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to install audio interfaces and route audio efficiently.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced live event environment while monitoring audio mix and taking directions/cues.
  • Able to work with internal departments, vendors, clients, and broadcast partners.
  • Able to perform manual labor for extended periods and climb ladders as needed.
  • Available to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
