Job Summary
Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney (remote) handling a full WC defense caseload from inception to resolution for California matters. Responsibilities include appearing before the WCAB, representing clients at hearings, depositions, and trials; drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents; conducting legal research and factual investigations; performing case evaluations and exposure assessments; interviewing witnesses and analyzing claim-related evidence; developing and executing litigation strategies tailored to individual matters; maintaining effective communication with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, and internal team members; and ensuring compliance with EAMS requirements, WCAB procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active California State Bar license in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of workers' compensation defense experience
- Experience in independently managing workers' compensation files
- Familiarity with EAMS and WCAB procedures and regulations
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent organizational and case management abilities
