Job Summary
Coordinate complex senior-level internal and external meetings, conference calls, and high-volume client interactions while managing detailed calendars and domestic or international travel. Handle a high volume of phone calls, respond to client requests, and establish ongoing business relationships. Proofread and revise legal documents, create spreadsheets and presentations, enter attorney time via 3E, and conduct internet research as directed. Maintain paper and electronic files with strong attention to detail and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations. Assist attorneys in successfully meeting and exceeding client needs within a firm of 1,100 lawyers operating on a one-firm principle.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a support capacity within a law firm, other legal or similar environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong initiative; ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently and make decisions on behalf of attorneys
- Excellent interpersonal skills; has the ability to work with different personalities in high-pressure situations
- Strong administrative and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple priorities
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills; strong attention to detail
- Team player; work well under pressure
- Demonstrate proficiency in all basic, advanced and legal specific applications
- Demonstrate desire and ability to learn new technology and willingness to share knowledge to assist others
- Self-starter who can manage competing priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Big Law or legal highly preferred
- College degree preferred
