Job Summary
Attorney to join State Farm’s Sacramento Claim Litigation office. Responsibilities include handling litigation assignments, trial strategy and case development, and attending litigation events such as trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings. Requires knowledge of local and state discovery rules and trial procedures, effective written and oral communication, and ownership of files. Must have an active California law license and be in good standing with the State Bar of California; 1+ years of litigation experience is preferred. The role is hybrid, requiring time in the office and some virtual work, with potential travel to job-related activities and irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of litigation experience
- Litigation experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers' compensation preferred
- Active law license to practice in California
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Knowledge of local and state discovery rules and trial procedures
- Trial, mediation, and deposition experience
- Ability to work with cases in electronic form; familiarity with Case Management and Document Storage systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel to job-related activities; willingness to work irregular hours
- Hybrid work arrangement requiring in-office presence and remote work as needed
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. immediately
