Job Summary
Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, hearings, and appeals; analyze cases to develop legal strategies and defenses; conduct thorough investigations of claims, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses; prepare and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements; advocate for clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings; negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and claims representatives; stay current on changes in workers’ compensation laws and regulations in California; provide legal advice to clients regarding compliance and risk management; communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed about case developments; collaborate with colleagues and experts to strengthen case strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the state of California
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in legal research and familiar with case management software
