Job Summary
Attorney for Clyde & Co's insurance coverage practice in California. Responsibilities include analyzing rights and obligations under insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, providing coverage advisement, conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, preparing pleadings, discovery requests, motions and supporting briefs, and handling legal correspondence related to insurance coverage litigation. Must meet California bar admission (with openness to other bar admissions for seasoned candidates) and demonstrate strong research, writing, and oral communication skills, as well as excellent organization and time-management to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Role involves meeting with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties; attending depositions, hearings, and mediations; and working in a hybrid in-office/remote arrangement with a broad benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Admitted to practice in California
- Will consider other bar admissions for seasoned candidates with extensive coverage experience
- Experience in insurance coverage and/or coverage litigation or a commercial litigation background with an interest in insurance coverage work
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple sensitive and time-sensitive matters
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
