Job Summary
Attendant I - Maintenance at Town of Whitby: responsible for cleaning and general maintenance/repair of community centre facilities; set-up and clean-up for rental/permit groups; provide customer service and respond to public and rental organizations; facility supervision and operational responsibility, including leading and directing junior staff, completing daily maintenance records, opening/closing the facility and operating the building security system and emergency systems; mitigate risks and ensure the safety of all users and staff; flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends in a hybrid work arrangement. Skills include customer service, building maintenance and cleaning, event set-up, equipment repair, risk assessment, safe operation of tools, and adherence to safety protocols including Standard First Aid and CPR-C; must possess a Secondary School Graduation Diploma, six months related experience, and a valid police check for the vulnerable sector.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- minimum of six (6) months related experience in building maintenance and cleaning, event set-up and clean-up, building equipment repair, customer service and operational responsibility of facilities
- current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certifications
- ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely
- ability to lift heavy objects
- valid, satisfactory police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector
