Job Summary
Manage daily student attendance by sending login reminders, verifying absence excuses, and entering accurate records into applicable databases. Conduct outreach via phone, email, and auto-dial to targeted families, while running reports to identify students requiring truancy communications and preparing compliant legal notices. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and social workers to monitor attendance trends, develop intervention plans, and provide administrative updates on truant students. Develop educational workshops on attendance policies and truancy law for staff and families.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ Years of truancy experience in the K-12 educational setting
- Knowledge of state school attendance laws and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 education
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members
- Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to travel up 25% of the time
