Job Summary
Coach individual participants in basic and advanced skills, provide leadership to athletic teams, and teach, monitor, and enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior. Monitor adherence to MIAA rules and regulations, assist the Athletic Director in planning practice schedules, and create an environment where students are supported and encouraged to participate. Instruct students on proper equipment use, set up gear for practice and games, and notify the Athletic Director of equipment misuse or replacement needs. Complete all necessary student documentation by deadlines and attend regular coach meetings regarding eligibility, schedules, and documentation. Adhere to practice schedules, student rules, and medical compliance, while modeling positive behavior and fair play.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to relate well to others
- Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
