Job Summary
Serve as the League Coordinator for an assigned sports program, managing registration, coach team selection, and pre-season meetings. Oversee inventory and distribution of supplies, assist coaches with practice and game setup, and prepare records including payroll, schedules, and marketing materials. Develop personal goals and evaluate performance at the internship's conclusion while participating in professional development and team-building activities. Maintain adherence to safety procedures and physical requirements involving prolonged standing and lifting up to 50lbs. Work flexible hours as part of the Peoria Park District's recreation services team.
Required Qualifications
- Status as a current high school or college undergrad student (Sept 2026 - Dec 2026)
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe, and equitable to both internal and external customers
- Prolong standing, bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Display an understanding of the philosophy of recreation and sports programs
- Some knowledge of sports skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with private organizations and special interest groups
- Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule
