Job Summary
Coach individual participants in basic and advanced skills, provide leadership to athletic teams, and teach, monitor, and enforce appropriate standards of discipline and sportsmanlike behavior. Monitor adherence to MIAA rules and regulations, assist the Athletic Director in planning and scheduling practice programs, and keep up to date with necessary training for the assigned sport. Create an environment where students are supported and encouraged to participate, strictly uphold safety rules, and model positive behavior and fair play. Instruct students in proper equipment use, notify the Athletic Director of equipment needs, and complete all necessary documentation for student participation by deadlines. Attend regular coach meetings to discuss eligibility, schedules, and documentation, and assist in planning the end-of-year awards party.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
