Job Summary
Coach individual participants in basic and advanced skills, provide leadership to athletic teams, and enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior. Monitor adherence to MIAA rules and regulations, assist the Athletic Director in planning practice schedules, and keep up to date with necessary training for the assigned sport. Create a supportive environment for student participation, model positive behavior, instruct on equipment use, and complete all required documentation for program participation. Attend regular meetings to discuss eligibility, schedules, and equipment needs, while notifying the Athletic Director of any safety concerns or equipment issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to relate well to others
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
