Job Summary
Coach individual participants in basic and advanced skills, provide leadership to the athletic team, and teach, monitor, and enforce standards of discipline and sportsmanship. Monitor adherence to MIAA rules and regulations, assist the Athletic Director in planning and scheduling practice programs, and keep up to date with necessary training for the assigned sport. Create an environment where students are supported, model positive behavior and fair play, instruct students in proper equipment use, and complete all necessary documentation for program participation. Attend regular coach meetings to discuss eligibility, schedules, and equipment needs, and notify the Athletic Director of any equipment misuse or replacement requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Dependable and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to relate well to others
- Must possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned
- Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
