Job Summary
Coach individual participants in basic and advanced skills, provide leadership to athletic teams, and enforce MIAA rules and regulations. Teach, monitor, and uphold standards of discipline and sportsmanship while modeling positive behavior and fair play. Assist the Athletic Director in planning practice schedules, managing equipment needs, and ensuring medical compliance. Complete necessary documentation for student participation and attend regular meetings regarding eligibility, schedules, and program concerns. Create a supportive environment where students are encouraged to participate in the athletics program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned
- Dependable and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to relate well to others
- Availability to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
