Job Summary
Conduct individual skill instruction and provide leadership for assigned fall sports teams, adhering to MIAA rules and regulations. Monitor athlete discipline, enforce safety standards, and model positive behavior while instructing proper equipment use. Assist the Athletic Director in planning practice schedules, documenting student eligibility, and managing equipment needs. Attend regular coaching meetings, complete necessary training certifications, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned sport standards. Ensure all documentation is submitted by deadlines and notify leadership promptly of any equipment misuse or replacement needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous related work experience with children in an education setting
- Current Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion
- First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training
- Certification as required by MIAA
- Teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned
- Dependable and reliable
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to relate well to others
- Must be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in a similar sport
