Job Summary
Athletics & Health Coordinator for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles responsible for implementing the Athletics & Health strategy, promoting healthy lifestyles and regular physical activity, coordinating sports leagues and recreation events, developing and reviewing program curricula, supervising youth sports activities, maintaining safety and positive youth development, and facilitating open communication with parents and staff. The role emphasizes leadership in program design, supervision of participants, transportation support, facility upkeep, and collaboration with the Director of Athletics & Health to create a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive environment that helps youth build social-emotional skills and positive relationships.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; minimum of two years of college experience
- Prefer Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- At least two years of direct youth service experience and a record that demonstrates project management, planning and implementation of youth programs
- At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience at a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Hold a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle driving record check
- Pass criminal background check
- Child and Adult First Aid and CPR certification
- Pass (negative result) a TB test
- Physical capacity to participate and demonstrate expectations of fitness programs
