Job Summary
Head Coach for Girls Basketball at Providence Public Schools. Teach fundamentals and skills; organize practice sessions; keep records and report results to local media. Provide Principal and Athletic Director with an outline of a general practice session; conduct coaches meetings and assign responsibilities; oversee care and prevention of injuries; ensure compliance with Providence School Department Athletic Handbook; teach rules and regulations of the sport; display good sportsmanship; manage equipment, team budget, and recruitment of players. Bilingual preferred; successful completion of pre-employment background check; E-Verify participation. CPR/First Aid certification and RIIL coaching permit are required; BA in education or related field preferred but not required; prior playing and coaching experience preferred.

- Principles of Coaching
- Psychology of Coaching
- Athletic Training (Prevention and care of athletic injuries)
- Bio-mechanics (Analysis and understanding of human movement)
- Previous playing and coaching experience preferred
- BA in education or related field preferred but not required
- Demonstrated dedication to youth and ability to gain the respect of team members
