Job Summary
Plans, directs, and implements HISD athletic programs, clinics, in-services, transportation, scheduling and awards programs. Leads the coordination of transportation, scheduling of contests, procurement of officials, and implementation of athletic policies and handbook updates across HISD schools. Serves as liaison with UIL, TASO, NFHS, NCAA, and other athletic associations; ensures compliance with athletic rules and regulations; develops goals/objectives for the Athletic Department and provides strategic direction across multiple schools. Requires a Master’s Degree and 7+ years of leadership experience; proficiency in PeopleSoft, SAP, and Microsoft Office; and possessing Teachers Certification and School Administrator Certification. Leads budgeting, program oversight, and complex decision-making impacting district-wide athletics; responsibilities include coordination of transportation, awards programs, and resolving game cancellations and disputes.
