Job Summary
Provide direct training and guidance to athletes, focusing on sport-specific skills, performance improvement, and the mastery of technical movements. Develop and execute a regular practice schedule that balances individual skill development with cohesive team strategy while continuously assessing athlete performance to inform instructional adjustments. Model and enforce high standards of sportsmanship, antiracism, and civic responsibility in all athletic activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes by adhering to district health protocols, including concussion management and medical emergency procedures. Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to schedule facilities and coordinate transportation for practices and competitions. Maintain appropriate and confidential records regarding student eligibility, medical clearances, and performance data in strict accordance with MIAA regulations and state laws.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree
- 2–4 years of successful experience in playing and/or coaching the specific sport beyond high school graduation
- MIAA-required coaching certifications
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Concussion Training certification
- Ability to lift and move at least 25 lbs
- Ability to see and hear on a continuous basis
- Ability to read and input digital data using mobile devices or computers
