Job Summary

Provide direct training and guidance to student-athletes, focusing on sport-specific skills, performance improvement, and the mastery of techniques. Develop and execute a regular practice schedule that balances individual skill development with cohesive team strategy while continuously assessing athlete performance to inform instructional adjustments. Model and enforce high standards of sportsmanship, antiracism, and civic responsibility, reinforcing the importance of academic proficiency and time management. Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to schedule facilities and coordinate transportation, while maintaining strict adherence to MIAA regulations, state laws, and district policies. Manage logistical demands including equipment inventory, facility scheduling, and the maintenance of confidential records regarding student eligibility and medical clearances. Engage athletes from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds in an inclusive manner, delivering clear communication regarding team expectations to parents, staff, and the community.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • MIAA-required coaching certifications
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Concussion Training certification
  • 2–4 years of successful experience in playing and/or coaching the specific sport beyond high school graduation
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to lift and move at least 25 lbs
  • Ability to see and hear on a continuous basis
  • Ability to read and input digital data using mobile devices or computers
  • Ability to move throughout school buildings, athletic fields, and grounds frequently
  • Ability to navigate quickly across even or uneven surfaces
