Job Summary
Athletic Trainer for the Women’s Youth National Team delivers comprehensive health, safety, recovery, and well-being support to U20/U23 players within the IPS framework. Responsibilities include on-field and clinical medical coverage for training and games, first aid and acute injury management, development of individualized prehab and recovery programs, return-to-performance protocols in coordination with medical staff, administration of treatments and therapeutic modalities, managing concussion protocols and emergency action plans, and ensuring compliant medical documentation. The role requires collaboration with IPS staff for player availability and performance planning, and participation in health and performance assessments, travel logistics, and budgeting. A Master’s degree in Athletic Training or dual credentialing, BOC certification, Georgia licensure (or eligibility), CPR/AED/First Aid, and at least five years of elite-sport experience with female athletes are required; willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel up to 50% is also expected.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training or dual credentialing as Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainer
- Current BOC certification and state licensure (or eligibility) in the state of Georgia
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in elite sport environments
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with female athletes
- Strong manual therapy skills
- Competency in Microsoft Suite and EMR systems
- Strong understanding of female- and soccer-specific injuries and return-to-performance criteria
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends and travel up to 50%
Desired Qualifications
- Strong applied understanding of female- and soccer-specific injuries
- Competency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Proven success in high pressure environments
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Prior experience in professional soccer
- Familiarity with FIFA and US Soccer medical standards
