Job Summary
Manage the Sports Medicine Saturday Clinics during Football Season and cover sporting events, including weekends, Saturday mornings, and a summer condition camp. Act as a community liaison between physicians, coaches, parents, and players to ensure effective treatment while providing professional athletic training and physical therapy services under supervision. Maintain accurate records of patient attendance, surgeries, radiology, and therapeutic procedures. Demonstrate good judgment regarding cost factors and provide specific treatment strategies in accordance with individualized plans. Support marketing efforts for the sports medicine program and participate in community awareness activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a college or university
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Licensed Athletic Trainer in Texas
- Current class 'C' driver's license (State of Texas)
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to deal tactfully with patients, parents, physicians, and personnel
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders
- Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
- Willingness to handle difficult situations
- Ability to function independently

- Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and clinic personnel
- Ability to remain insurable under liability insurance policy (over age 21 and no moving violations)
- Manual dexterity to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
