Job Summary
Assist physicians in clinic operations including patient intake, initial assessments, post-operative procedures, and education. Manage community outreach for high school athletes and the Young Athletes Academy by providing on-site sports medicine care, injury prevention, emergency coverage, and sideline support. Oversee programmatic development with strategic partners, prevent and evaluate athletic injuries, and implement rehabilitation programs. Prepare exam rooms, document vital signs, perform templated pre-charting, and conduct routine treatments such as wound care and bracing. Provide patient education on home exercise programs and coordinate care for complex health needs. Maintain daily treatment logs and injury reports while consulting with licensed physicians on treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer by Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
- Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)
- RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support
- Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations
- Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
- Ability to solve problems and identify solutions
- Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
- Ability to maintain medical records, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standard
- Ability to recognize life threatening situations and administer the appropriate emergency aid
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Athletic Training including conditioning and injury prevention, as well as injury assessment and rehabilitation
- Knowledge of the full range of therapeutic modalities and their practical use and physiological basis; other therapeutic prevention and treatments such as taping, bracing, and massage; effective use of rehabilitation and exercise equipment
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
