Job Summary
Carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborating closely with PTs and physicians. Assess and administer first aid during practices and sporting events, ensuring proper physician referrals are made when needed. Oversee the Athletic Training room to maintain adequate supplies, maximal coverage, and a clean, safe, professional environment. Communicate effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and medical team members while maintaining accurate records of all evaluations and treatments. Provide education on injury prevention, health literacy, nutrition, and mental health. Ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Organize in-services, lectures, conferences, and seasonal physicals as appropriate. This role supports the medical needs of assigned partners at St James Hospital in Butte, Montana, with variable hours and unpredictable schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
