Job Summary
Provide medical coverage on field and in the training room for injured athletes during practices and events, including administering first aid, assessing injuries, and making appropriate physician referrals. Carry out rehabilitation programs by collaborating closely with physical therapists and physicians to ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Oversee the operation of the Athletic Training room to maintain clean, safe, and professional environments with adequate supplies, while maintaining accurate records of all evaluations and treatments. Communicate effectively with coaches, school administration, parents, and other sports medicine team members, and organize educational opportunities such as in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the athletic director, faculty, coaching staff, and boosters.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
