Job Summary
Carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborating closely with PTs and physicians. Assess and administer first aid during practices and sporting events, making appropriate physician referrals when needed. Oversee the Athletic Training room to ensure supply levels, maximal coverage, and a clean, safe environment. Maintain accurate records of evaluations, referrals, and treatments while providing education on injury prevention, nutrition, and mental health. Develop relationships with school administration, coaches, and parents; ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Organize in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals as appropriate. This role supports the medical needs of assigned partners in a school-based setting with variable working hours and unpredictable schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
