Job Summary
Provide medical coverage, on-field and in the training room, for injured athletes during practices and events at a school, youth, or high school setting. Carry out rehabilitation programs after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborate closely with PT and physicians, and assess and administer first aid while making appropriate physician referrals. Oversee the operation of the Athletic Training room to ensure supplies are maintained, coverage is maximal, and the environment remains clean, safe, and professional. Communicate effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and medical team members, maintain accurate records of evaluations and treatments, and ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met. Provide education on injury prevention, health literacy, nutrition, and mental health. Develop relationships with key stakeholders including the Athletic Director, faculty, coaching staff, and boosters. Variable working hours with unpredictability and late nights required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
