Job Summary
Carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborating closely with physical therapists and physicians. Administer first aid during practices and sporting events, making appropriate physician referrals when needed. Oversee the operation of the Athletic Training room to ensure supply levels, maximal coverage, and a clean, safe, and professional environment. Communicate effectively with coaches, school administration, parents, athletes, and sports medicine team members. Maintain accurate records of evaluations, referrals, and treatments. Provide education on injury prevention, health literacy, nutrition, and mental health. Develop relationships with key stakeholders including physicians, athletic directors, faculty, coaching staff, boosters, and parents. Ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Organize in-services, lectures, conferences, seasonal physicals, and training opportunities. Requires current Athletic Training licensure, BOC credentialing, and BLS certification. Variable working hours with unpredictability to match partner needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
