Job Summary
Provide medical coverage on field and in the training room for injured athletes during practices and events, collaborating closely with physicians and physical therapists to carry out rehabilitation programs. Assess and administer first aid, maintain accurate records of evaluations and treatments, and ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Oversee the Athletic Training room to maintain clean, safe, and professional environments with adequate supplies, while communicating effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and other sports medicine team members. Deliver education on injury prevention, health literacy, and mental wellbeing, and organize in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals. This school-based role supports the medical needs of assigned partners at St James Hospital in Butte, Montana, with variable hours including late nights to match partner needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
