Job Summary
Join Sanford Health's Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Performance team serving two local high schools (Sacred Heart in East Grand Forks and Thompson in North Dakota). Evaluates, plans, instructs, and monitors athletic training programs to prevent injury, restore function, and maximize independence. Evaluates athletes’ injuries and conditions, recommends care plans including schedules and related education, and documents findings from medical records, physicians, and families. Utilizes testing/evaluation techniques to assess injuries (including concussion testing such as neurocognitive, balance, and vestibular/oculomotor assessments). Implements and monitors rehabilitation and reconditioning programs based on diagnosis and real-time status, and explains safety rules governing training and use of equipment. Maintains protection strategies with assistive devices as needed and ensures appropriate safety rules are followed. Performs documentation and communication to coordinate care with physicians and families. Standards align with state licensure and Board of Certification requirements; may require driver’s license per facility needs. Sanford Health is an integrated nonprofit health system with extensive network operations across multiple states.
