Job Summary

Identify, assess, and manage student-athlete injury prevention and care across 24 intercollegiate NCAA sports. Implement rehabilitation programs, prepare athletes for competition via taping and bracing, and facilitate referrals to physicians and specialists. Maintain documentation, compile physical participation status forms, and support the athletics drug and alcohol-testing program. Adhere to NCAA bylaws, supervise student employees, and function under team physician oversight while traveling for team needs.

Required Qualifications

  • NATA-BOC certification
  • New York state licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2 years of related experience
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Possess or be eligible for New York state licensure
  • Ability to obtain New York state licensure with 30 days of employment
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, therapeutic modalities, and therapeutic rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) conferences and university rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of athletic prevention and treatment processes
  • Skill in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic sports injuries accurately
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information
  • Ability to provide autonomous care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be available to work weekends and odd hours
  • Must adhere to NCAA bylaws and policies
  • Must function under team physician oversight
  • Must demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to University, department and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Must report rules violations to appropriate parties
  • Must be able to supervise student employees
