Job Summary
Collaborate with physical therapists, strength coaches, and dietitians to deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries. Engage in performance optimization strategies addressing physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual readiness domains while supporting unit leaders with evidence-based strategies to reduce injuries and enhance overall unit readiness. Leverage data and tools from the Center for Initial Military Training to track and improve performance outcomes, specifically targeting ACFT pass rates and resilience across the force. This role supports the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness program at Ft. Polk, contributing to a 23% increase in ACFT pass rates and reduced musculoskeletal injuries. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, BOC certification, and two years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
- Passing score from the BOC for the Athletic Trainer
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide health care within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts
- Two years of relevant Athletic Training work experience within the last three years
- Experience working with active populations (e.g. military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health)
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Current physical and immunizations
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be able to spend time on feet, in the elements, while carrying a supplies
