Job Summary
Plan, organize, and conduct the athletic trainer program based on management direction and physician evaluation. Perform on-field immediate care for injuries, recommend physician or therapy follow-up, and prepare age and prognosis appropriate prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation plans. Maintain injury logs per contractual agreement, document procedures per policy, and participate in clinic and community-based rehabilitation training. Complete in-services, continuing education, and professional paper writing while adapting communication styles to diverse patient populations. Requires current state license, BLS certification, and ability to tolerate high temperatures and travel between facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training
- Current Athletic Trainer license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Ability to tolerate temperature of 100 degrees or more for three hours during outdoor events
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule (e.g. more than 8 hours a day)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects
- Occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force
- Residence in and willingness to work from the following areas: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in athletic training
- Prior experience as an Athletic Trainer
- Athletic Training Board Certification of Board of Certification (BOC)
