Job Summary
Athletic Trainer I at Ochsner Health provides leadership in planning, organizing, and conducting the athletic trainer program under physician direction. Responsibilities include maintaining injury logs, communicating prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation plans to clinicians, contributing to clinic and community-based rehabilitation, participating in in-services/continuing education, and assisting in day-to-day operations. Must hold a state athletic trainer license, have BLS, and be capable of adapting to diverse patient populations while complying with applicable laws and Ochsner policies; role supports on-site athletic training duties with emphasis on injury prevention and rehabilitation. This is a PRN/part-time position based in New Orleans, LA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training (Education Required)
- Current Athletic Trainer License in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and data entry
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to tolerate outdoor temperatures during events
- Knowledge of athletic training procedures and rehabilitation protocols
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
- Master's degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
