Job Summary
Deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries while collaborating with physical therapists, strength coaches, and occupational therapists. Engage in performance optimization strategies across physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual domains to support unit leaders in reducing injuries and enhancing readiness. Leverage data from the Center for Initial Military Training to track outcomes and contribute to a 23% increase in Army Combat Fitness Test pass rates. Work on-site at Fort Drum in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring hands-on interaction with soldiers during training and recovery, with the ability to lift up to 45 pounds and spend time on feet.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
- Passing score from the BOC for the Athletic Trainer
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide health care within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts
- Two years of relevant Athletic Training work experience within the last three years
- Experience working with active populations (e.g. military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health)
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Current physical and immunizations
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Must be able to spend time on feet
- Must be able to spend time in the elements
- Must be able to carry supplies
