Job Summary

Conduct holistic age-specific patient assessments and document data related to physical, mental, developmental, emotional, and social conditions for pediatric orthopedic injuries. Apply therapeutic modalities, adjust casts and splints, and instruct patients on walker, crutch, and gait training under physician direction. Coordinate patient care by reviewing charts, following up on lab results within 48 hours, and facilitating communication between families, physicians, and physical therapists. Provide sideline coverage for outreach athletic training services to local schools and develop evidence-based injury prevention programs for coaches and the community. Maintain inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment while ensuring compliance with NATABOC standards and Nebraska state regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or an accredited educational program by the NATA-BOC
  • 1-3 years experience working as an athletic trainer in orthopedics/sports medicine
  • Regular attendance at work
  • Physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related field
