Job Summary
Conduct prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for student athletes, managing sports-related injuries and administering first aid during practices and games. Perform special tests for joint stability and range of motion, coordinate scheduling of pre-participation physical examinations, and maintain medical records and injury reports. Educate and supervise athletes in rehab equipment use, assist coaches in designing therapeutic programs, and monitor environmental conditions to ensure safe training environments. Work rotating shifts including nights and weekends, while reporting misconduct and staying current with NCAA legislation and sports medicine developments.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Degree in Athletic Training or related field
- 2 years of experience
- Experience in injury prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, administration, and professional responsibility, as outlined by BOC
- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for handling blood-borne pathogens
- Advanced proficiency in maintaining medical records, including the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Ability to travel and work nights and weekends
- Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC)
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
