Job Summary

Plan and implement a comprehensive athletic injury prevention and rehabilitation program for student athletes, including physical conditioning training and emergency triage. Conduct evaluations before practices and games, applying therapeutic modalities and fitting specialized equipment as needed. Supervise student assistants, coordinate physical examinations, and maintain all medical records and equipment inventory. Detect environmental risks and resolve issues while adhering to ethical and legal parameters regarding drug use. Attend practice sessions and athletic contests as assigned, providing injury prevention services and overseeing the return-to-competition criteria for injured athletes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid license from Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers
  • Two years of experience as an athletic trainer
  • Ability to provide injury prevention and rehabilitation services
  • Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes and assistants
  • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and ability to treat student athletes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide emergency care
  • Lifting (45 pounds or more)
  • Carrying (45 pounds or more)
