Job Summary
Athletic Trainer at Lane College provides comprehensive sports medicine services to 12 NCAA Division II sports, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, emergency care, health education, and coordination of medical services. Collaborates with coaches, team physicians, and healthcare professionals to promote health, safety, and performance; delivers emergency response, return-to-play determinations, rehabilitation supervision, education on injury prevention and wellness, and maintains confidential records in compliance with NCAA and HIPAA. Requires bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field, BOC certification, Tennessee licensure/eligibility, CPR/AED/First Aid, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or closely related field
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
- Current Tennessee athletic trainer licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care
- Excellent communication, organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, medical professionals, and campus partners
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
- Commitment to the academic, athletic, personal, and overall development of student-athletes
