Job Summary
Carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes and administer first aid during practices and sporting events, collaborating closely with physicians and physical therapists. Oversee the Athletic Training room to ensure supplies are maintained, coverage is provided, and the environment remains clean and safe. Communicate effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and medical staff while maintaining accurate records of evaluations and treatments. Provide education on injury prevention, nutrition, and mental health, and advocate for overall athlete wellbeing. Ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before allowing participation. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the athletic director, coaching staff, and boosters. Organize in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work.
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
