Job Summary
Provide medical coverage on field and in the training room for injured athletes during practices and events, administering first aid and making physician referrals as needed. Carry out rehabilitation programs after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborating closely with PT and physicians. Oversee the operation of the Athletic Training room to ensure supplies are maintained, coverage is provided, and the environment remains clean, safe, and professional. Communicate effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and other sports medicine team members while maintaining accurate records of evaluations and treatments. Develop relationships with key stakeholders including the Athletic Director and coaching staff, and organize educational opportunities such as in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals. Ensure proper return to play criteria are met before allowing athlete participation. Variable working hours and unpredictability of schedules required to match partner needs, including late nights.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work.
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
