Job Summary
Provide medical coverage on-field and in the training room for injured athletes during practices and events, assessing and administering first aid while making appropriate physician referrals. Carry out rehabilitation programs after evaluation and treatment plan establishment, collaborating closely with PT and physicians. Oversee the Athletic Training room to ensure supply levels, maximal coverage, and a clean, safe environment. Maintain accurate records of evaluations, referrals, and treatments, and ensure proper return-to-play criteria are met before athlete participation. Communicate effectively with coaches, administration, parents, and sports medicine team members while advocating for injury prevention and health literacy. Develop relationships with key stakeholders including the Athletic Director, coaching staff, and boosters. Organize in-services, lectures, and seasonal physicals as appropriate. Variable working hours with unpredictability and potential late nights required to match partner needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work
- Credentialed as an Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience working in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer
