Job Summary
Liaise between patients, physicians, and clinic staff by triaging messages, documenting vitals, histories, and initial evaluations, and maintaining clinic flow. Design and educate patients on home exercise protocols, setup in-office procedures, and fit braces and crutches. Assist physicians with in-office procedures and counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and outcomes. Report directly to the Clinic Practice Manager within a normal office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
- National certification by completing the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) examination
- Illinois athletic training licensure, certification, or registration
- NPI number
- Knowledge of a large range of medical problems
- Assessment and evaluation skills
- Ability of working with other healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail in order to take notes on patient recovery
- Interpersonal Skills, keeping a calm demeanor when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff and families
- Strong oral communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision
