Job Summary
BOC-certified athletic trainer fellow in USC Athletic Medicine focused on prevention, evaluation, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries. Responsibilities include educating and supervising student athletes and student workers in rehab equipment and exercises, coordinating medical coverage for practices and competitions, maintaining medical records and injury reports, and collaborating with physicians, coaches, and staff. Travel and overnight/weekend work are required; role involves designing conditioning and rehabilitation programs, monitoring safety of practices/games, and staying current with sports-medicine developments and relevant NCAA regulations. The position requires an entry-level master's athletic training credential and supervisory autonomy within a fixed-term, exempt framework.
Required Qualifications
- Req Master's degree Degree in Athletic Training or related field required
- Req Entry level masters athletic training curriculum
- Req Experience in injury prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment rehabilitation and reconditioning
- Req Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards for handling blood-borne pathogens
- Req Advanced proficiency in maintaining medical records including FERPA and HIPAA standards
- Req Ability to travel and work nights and weekends
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Required National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- If working within LA Fire City Code regulations
