Job Summary
Athletic Trainer position in the Athletics department providing athletic training services under physician direction, including evaluations, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals, and return-to-play decisions. Responsibilities include medical record maintenance, emergency management, coordination of care across a high-performance sports medicine team, supervising learners, coordinating physician visits and imaging, monitoring performance metrics, and contributing to administrative duties. Requires BOC certification (or exam completion within six months), IDFPR license or eligibility, and a CAATE-accredited degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s). Prefer 3–5 years of related experience; in Evanston, IL, with in-person duties and potential travel for events.
Required Qualifications
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer, or successful completion of the BOC examination and able to show proof of BOC certification within six months of start date
- Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Athletic Trainer license, or license eligible and able to show proof within six months of start date
- Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree from a CAATE-accredited program
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary team
- Experience with pre-participation screening, emergency action planning, and return-to-play decisions
