Job Summary
Athletic Trainer/DME Fitter and Coordinator responsible for fitting and maintaining the DME schedule for patient delivery; coordinate care, authorizations, and maintenance of equipment and supplies; ensure cleanliness of fitting rooms; collaborate with MAs and billing staff to deliver high-quality patient care; measure, schedule, and fit orthopedic bracing; instruct patients on use of orthopedic devices; order products and manage inventory; verify patient benefits and perform pre-certifications for orthotics; communicate with physicians, staff, vendors, and product representatives regarding product issues; complete special projects and assist with workload as needed; ensure all payer documentation is obtained and HIPAA/Medicare/Medicaid compliance; schedule, educate, process orders, deliver items, and perform courtesy calls; manage procurement and insurance processing of DME; willing to work at multiple locations; must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 lbs; experience with medical bracing and DME is preferred; equal employment opportunity statement included.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Athletic Trainer (pending certification ok)
- Experience working in a DME provider's office, physician’s office, rehab clinic or hospital, or similar role - preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of DME protocols is recommended
