Job Summary
Provide athletic training services to athletes at high schools and assigned sites, utilizing clinical techniques to assess and treat injuries. Select, perform, and interpret results of ATC examinations while establishing treatment plans based on athlete assessments. Coordinate pre- and post-participation exams, acquire protective equipment, and provide care during sponsored sporting events. Communicate with physicians, coaches, and parents; document status in the EMR and maintain confidentiality. Offer oversight and mentoring to new team members and graduate assistants. Perform other duties as assigned, including outreach team representation and supplemental hospital staffing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training OR Physical Education w/ Athletic Training emphasis
- Master's degree preferred
- BLS required
- SC LLR Licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required for team members working in South Carolina
- BOC (Board of Certification) for Athletic Training required
- Knowledge of office equipment
- Data entry and mathematical skills
- Knowledge of patient equipment such as vitals, suction, and defibrillators
- Knowledge of basic SM equipment
- Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state certification guidelines and concussion law
