Job Summary
Assist physicians and mid-level providers with patient evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and rehabilitation programs. Implement prescribed exercises, apply modalities, and manage orthopedic care including brace fitting, cast application, and wound care. Gathers patient history, documents vital signs, and updates electronic medical records while providing patient education on rehabilitation protocols. Prepare patients for procedures, escort them through clinic areas, and coordinate follow-up appointments and diagnostic testing. Maintain clinical supply inventory, restock workstations, and ensure exam rooms are clean and disinfected in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards. Provide sideline coverage for assigned events, recognizing injuries and communicating concerns to supervising physicians.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program
- Current Board of Certified Athletic Trainers Certification (BOCATC)
- Certified First Assistant (CFA) from the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Current and valid Louisiana Athletic Trainer license
- CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical record systems
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, or clinical setting
